Pattern spotlight: Astrantia Cowl by Beatrice Perron Dahlen (me) from MAINE knits
A lot of my ideas come from simply swatching interesting stitch patterns. This one I swatched in a chunky yarn and played with until the idea for this cowl formed. It reminded me of the vintage textiles that I've found on farms I've worked on. There is just something about lace in a bulky yarn (this one's knit in Quince & Co. Puffin) that is incredibly satisfying and still functional too. What I love most about this design is that it lead to a sweater. I'll share the Astrantia Pullover in a few days, but know, it's one of my most favorite things I've ever designed! I can't wait to share it...
