MAINE knits Pattern Spotlight: Broadturn Hap

December 14, 2016 Beatrice Perron Dahlen

Pattern spotlight: Broadturn Hap by Beatrice Perron Dahlen (me) from MAINE knits

The haps of Shetland offer endless inspiration to me.  Hardworking garments with beautiful details and a touch of lace are what make my heart sing.  When thinking about what my perfect farm chore hap would look like, I knew I wanted to contrast two colors.  I had worked with Maine Twist before and knew it had lovely drape and hand.  Nancy reached out and offered to do a special fingering weight mill of this divine yarn.  I knew it would be perfect for this design.  It's one of the yarns in the book that will be hard to find.  My hope is that folks will find their local yarn makers and support them!  It's what make amazing small batch yarns like this one possible.
